Rapid routes:
Move faster with strategic multi-modal access.

Offering excellent connections now, and with additions and improvements underway, the Port of Rosedale is a good move for efficient movement. With the upcoming Great Mississippi River Bridge crossing to be constructed only 15 miles away, the Port is poised to provide a vital connection to the I-69 extension—the “NAFTA Superhighway”—linking the U.S. industrial heartland with the Texas-Mexican border, from Port Huron, Michigan to Laredo, Texas. Already, the Port offers access that insures efficient links to domestic and global markets:

Highway Access: Dual access to Miss. Hwy. 1 and Miss. Hwy. 8 provides easy north/south/east connections. Running parallel to the Mississippi River, Hwy. 1 connects to the Helena, Arkansas-Mississippi River Bridge 50 miles north, and to Hwy. 82 in Greenville, Miss., 40 miles to the south, while Hwy. 8 runs east to the Alabama state line. Additionally, for long-haul truck shipments, two major interstate highway systems, I-55 and I-20, are within easy driving distance.

Truck Access: The Port is served by major trucking lines, as well as a number of locally owned trucking lines.

Rail Access: Enhanced rail service is coming soon with the renovation of the branch short-line rail operation that the Port has operated on an as-needed basis since 1981. The rail line interchanges with the Columbus & Greenville Railroad outside of Greenville, Miss., which also has expansions planned.

Waterway Access: The Port’s location at mile 585 A.H.P. on the lower Mississippi River offers five-day river transport to New Orleans for import/export as well as shipment to domestic markets. Port of Rosedale’s 3.3-mile slack-water channel is maintained by the Corps of Engineers to a minimum of 9 feet draft and provides year-round service.

Air Access: The Port offers good proximity to general, commercial and international air connections. The general aviation airport in Cleveland, MS, eighteen miles east, offers a 4,100-foot active asphalt paved runway, a PAPI system and AWAS systems; Cleveland is also home to the Delta State University Aviation School. Commercial flights are offered at Greenville, MS, forty miles south, while Memphis International, 110 miles to the north, provides global access. Federal Express and United Postal Service are available for daily deliveries.
